Mardi Gras in New Orleans - 2008

Last Sunday, Ed, Eamon and I loaded up the car and left for New Orleans. It is about a 5 hour drive and Eamon did great! We stopped halfway to feed Eamon and ourselves. We spent Sunday night with Chip and Debbie (Jenni's Dad and Stepmom). Eamon slept through the Superbowl!
Monday morning we got up and drove to see Ethel and Edith. Ethel just lit up when I put Eamon in her arms.
Edith also held Eamon.
Katie and Ellen couldn't wait to see him so they came over to Ethels. Too bad they don't live closer, they are great babysitters, and don't mind changing diapers!
Katie & Eamon. Katie is 13.
Eamon & Ellen. Ellen is 12.
Uncle Ely got back from South America Monday morning and surprised us all by showing up in New Orleans on Monday afternoon. I guess he just couldn't stand to wait a few more days to see his nephew. Ely's flight left for Chile about 30 minutes after Eamon was born, so he didn't get to see him until Monday.
Eamon is getting so big and spending more and more time alert.
We spent Monday night at Aunt Lovie and Louis's house. Aunt Lovie just LOVED Eamon. I kept hearing, "Give me MY baby". Aunt Lovie held him as much as she could and since Eamon loves being held he was in heaven!Mardi Gras Day
We spent Mardi Gras Day with my Nanny (Godmother) on St. Charles. Eamon was the true King of Mardi Gras. He pretty much slept through Mardi Gras. Nothing seems to bother him too much.

Eamon & his Great Godmother Johanna.

Uncle Ely as the King of Carnival!
Ian was fascinated by Eamon's fingers and toes and quite enjoyed holding him.

OK, so this is Ely's foot. No, it's not dirty, it's the tan he got in Chili. He spent a few weeks at a sea kayaking and outdoor survival class.
When we got back we met MamaMarie & PapaLee at Purple Onion. We had to change him into this outfit because he spit up on all the rest. It was too small and Mom said he looked like a sausage, so we took a picture.

No baby with beads picture? :) I can't believe Ely hasn't seen him yet. I didn't realize he was out of the country. Looks like y'all had a good time!
