Reminder

Don't get mad when your 19 month old is throwing the trash across the room when you gave it to him and asked him to throw it away.

New Photographer in Town

Watch out Birmingham, there is a new photographer in town and she took some pictures of Eamon this week. There is a sneak peak at www.raedyerphotography.com ! A slide show with more pictures will be ready next week and I'll post that link when it is available. Since Rae is new in town, she is offering a great deal - waiving the sitting fee and offering a credit towards prints.

New Orleans Trip - Part 5 - Hanging out

Katie, Eamon and Ellen

Eamon and Ellen marching on the sidewalk.

Eamon had a great time playing with his cousins. They take great care of him. He was very excited to see Ellen again (she stayed with us for 2 weeks earlier this summer)

When we got in the car to leave Eamon was crying, he didn't want to leave his cousins.
Funny thing is, I remember both those girls and their older brother crying when I would leave their house.

New Orleans Trip - Part 4: Eamon's First Snowball

Katie, Ellen and I took Eamon for his first snowball at my favorite snowball stand, Sal's. Sal's is right down the street from Ethel's old house and she would take Ely and I there all the time. We usually walked. Eamon got a pina colada flavored snowball (didn't want to stain his cute outfit that MamaMarie made)
Katie and Ellen both had ice cream flavored snowball. Ellen's had actual soft-serve ice cream on top and Katie's had condensed milk on top. Me, I had a Strawberry with condensed milk, YUM!!
HE LOVED IT!

When his was all gone (partially eaten and partially spilled on him and the ground - notice the cup angle) he held his cup up to Ellen wanting her to pour some of hers into his cup. Then he looked at me and told me more. No more for you little man, you had enough sugar for one day.

Here is a picture of Sal's Snowball Stand on Metairie Road. I found this picture on Google

New Orleans Trip - Part 3: Visiting Aunt Lovie

We went to see Aunt Lovie on Saturday. Aunt Lovie is my mom's aunt. If I posted her age on here she would probably kill me, but let me just tell you, she looks and acts a lot younger than she is.

New Orleans Trip - Part 2 - Louisiana Children's Museum

On Friday, my cousin, Katie, and I took Eamon to the Louisiana Children's Museum.
Katie is 15 and will be a Sophomore this year.

Eamon really liked playing with the trains, and Katie enjoyed this riding horse.More fun with the train table.
Rocking horse.

They have a pretend diner, it was pretty neat.
This is really cool. You can make a giant bubble around you.

Eamon loves anything with a steering wheel.
Eamon and Katie driving a boat (I think)
They have a section that is Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood. I'm not sure how many of these kids actually know who he is.

Thanks for going with us Katie, we had a great time.

New Orleans Trip - Part 1: Ethel

For those of you that don't know her, this is Ethel. Ethel is actually my mom's ex-husband's aunt, but mom says that she got Ethel in the divorce. Ethel kept me and my brother when we were young and still living in New Orleans (and countless other children before us). After we moved to Birmingham, Ely and I would go and stay with Ethel during school breaks and the summer. Ethel would also come visit us a lot. We had so much fun at Ethel's house and will always remember those memories.

So, last week, Jenni, Eamon and I went to New Orleans. On the way there we stopped to see Ethel, who is living in Picayune with her niece. Ethel is 97 and she looks great!

Ethel loves children and Eamon was no exception!

Ethel and EamonJenni and EthelEamon wanted to push Ethel.Eamon enjoyed looking at the horses or "nays" as he calls them. Ethel's niece Sharron has two horses that live in the pasture behind the house.

We also stopped to visit Ethel's sister, Edith. And this is the house that we all have so many memories in. Ethel's grandfather built this house when Ethel was 2 or 4, I can't remember, so the house is either 95 or 93 years old. It is currently under contract, so I felt the need to take a picture before it is sold.
Thanks for all the memories, 15 Metairie Court.
